DALLAS BASS HOOKERS and CEDAR HILL PARKS HOST ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL KID FISH TOURNAMENT
On Saturday, June 2, 2018, the Dallas Bass Hookers, in partnership with the City of Cedar Hill Parks and Recreation Department hosted the annual Kid Fish Tournament at Valley Ridge Park Pond in Cedar Hill, TX. The tournament was open to kids 4-16 years old. Over 150 kids participated in the tournament and traveled from cities as far as Frisco, TX.
The Dallas Bass Hookers members’ provided cane poles, bait, and assisted with every aspect of the tournament from baiting the hooks, to removing the fish for weighing, to prepping the bait! At the conclusion of the fishing tournament, prizes were awarded to the top 3 fishermen who caught the most fish according to weight in the following age categories; 4-7 years old, 8-11 years old, 12-16 years old. In addition to awards, each participant was entered into a drawing to win a door prize ranging from a brand new tackle box, lawn chair, watches, and other items, all donated by the Dallas Bass Hookers Club, as well as treated to a complimentary lunch. The Dallas Bass Hookers Club was founded in 1973. They are the oldest predominantly African American Bass Club in Texas and are a Non-Profit incorporated organization. In 2018, Dallas Bass Hookers celebrated 45 years of existence.
